Shame, sex, and South Park farts

Everyone's felt the sting of shame. Consciously or not, shame regulates our behavior and even our opinions. Sexual shame, in particular, functions as a political strategy (remember the impeachment trial?), religious imperative (think ex-gay ministries and virgin pledges), and mechanism for social control (consider the time when women were the "weaker" sex). Dr. Irvine discusses theories of shame and how, today, some shame standards are being violated.
