Participant Bios

Jamison Green is a San Francisco Bay Area-based author, educator, policy consultant, public speaker, and legislative provocateur, and co-author of The State of Transgender Rights in the United States of America. He has been engaged in local, national, and international activism promoting the health, safety, and civil rights of transsexual, transgender, and gender-variant people since he transitioned from female to male in 1988. He serves on the Boards of Directors of several national nonprofit groups, including the Transgender Law & Policy Institute, TransYouth Family Allies, and the World Professional Association for Transgender Health.

 

 

Dallas Denny, M.A. is a writer and transgender activist. She founded and for many years served as Executive Director of The American Educational Gender Information Service. She served as editor-in-chief of Transgender Tapestry Journal from 1998-2006 and was Director of Fantasia Fair, the transgender community's oldest conference, from 2001-2006. She is a retired licensed psychological examiner.

 

 

Masen Davis is the Executive Director of the Transgender Law Center, a civil rights organization advocating for transgender communities through direct legal services, public policy advocacy, and public education. Before coming to TLC in 2007, Masen spent six years at United Way of Greater Los Angeles where he worked in grantmaking and development capacities and served on United Way of America's Inclusion Council. Masen has been an activist in the movement for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender equality since 1990.

 

 

 

Joy O'Donnell was Director of Outreach for the National Sexuality Resource Center at San Francisco State University, where she organized networks of individuals and organizations to include lifelong learning and dialogue about sexuality in their lives and work for the greater health and happiness of society. Joy led NSRC's advocacy initiatives in religion/spirituality, aging/seniors and comprehensive sexuality education. Joy holds a Master of Arts degree in U.S. History with a focus on the history of feminism and sexuality rights activism in the 20th century and has worked as a sexuality educator for adult populations for over 10 years.
